Twenty-Eight More People Die from Coronavirus in Serbia, 2,093 Newly Infected

In the last 24 hours 28 people died from the coronavirus in Serbia, while 2,093 new cases of infection were registered, the Ministry of Health stated on Jan. 11.

The number of patients being treated for COVID-19 in Serbian hospitals is 5,609, 194 of them on ventilators, the Ministry said and added that 361,782 people had been infected since the outbreak of the epidemic in Serbia, of whom 3,610 had died.

Epidemiologist Predrag Kon said that an additional 18,075 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine arrived in Serbia on Jan. 11, adding that 500,000 more doses of Sputnik V and a million doses of the Sinopharm vaccine were expected to be delivered by the end of the month.

Kon said that roughly 11,500 doses of the coronavirus vaccine had been administered in Serbia so far, while the pace of vaccination would increase with the number of vaccines that were in the country.
