The situation in Ukraine “increases Serbia’s appetite to create instabilities” in Kosovo, Kosovo’s security experts feel.

One of them, Fadil Kajtazi, said in an interview with the RTV Dukadjini television that a visit to Serbia by the secretary of the Security Council of Russia, Nikolai Patrushev, meant that “the hybrid war in the Balkans will continue.” “If the Russians were planning military destabilization in the Balkans, they would have sent their army chief of staff to Serbia. Instead, the head of the intelligence is coming, which means that they are planning to continue the hybrid war by creating a political chaos,” Katjazi said.

His peer, Abit Hoxha, said explicitly that Serbia was planning to destabilize the Balkans. “The question is not if Serbia wants to destabilize the Balkans, but rather when and how. It is common knowledge that Serbia has targeted two countries, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo,” Hoxha explained

“The Serbian threat will manifest itself in several forms, like a violation of Kosovo’s airspace by drones or another provocative act. Yet I expect the NATO presence in Kosovo to keep Serbia from using a classic provocative act, bringing its army into the territory of Kosovo,” Hoxha added.
