According to Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who is visiting Brussels for a meeting between the leaders of the EU and Western Balkan countries, we no longer live in times when free and independent are subject to coercion.

“I believe that we will fight for a European future alongside our friends from the region, while respecting ourselves and believing that together we can get much done,” Vucic told a press conference.

Asked whether he expects to face criticism over Serbia’s decision not to impose sanctions on Russia, Vucic recalled that, at the vote in the U.N., Serbia did express its opposition to the Russian aggression.

Vucic further stated that Serbia respects Ukraine’s territorial integrity but also respects its own – adding that this is not the case with many European countries, which support Ukraine but refuse Serbia the same courtesy.
