Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Feb. 3 that Serbia was facing big talks and a fight for founding the Community of Serb Municipalities with considerable prerogatives that would instill trust in the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija.

"We will make all decisions in cooperation with them (the Serbs in Kosovo), because I am sure there will be a lot of pressure from the outside and from the ethnic Albanian side not to follow what was signed in Brussels, where they will explain to us that it is not realistic," Vucic told parliament.

Speaking about "who's to blame" for not introducing sanctions against Russia, Vucic said he was to blame and that he had motioned for this at a session of the National Security Council. "I knew we had to condemn the incursion into Ukraine, I knew because we could not have asked for or done anything in the international arena any more if we had not, that we had to respect the integrity of Ukraine because we could not defend Kosovo if we didn't," Vucic said.

He stressed that he had been against sanctions against Russia because of Serbia's negative experience with sanctions in 1999, but also because Serbia needed someone in the United Nations Security Council.
