EU Delegation in Serbia Head Emanuele Giaufret said on May 25 that after supporting reforms of public administration in Serbia with EUR214 million in the past nine years, an additional EUR30 million would be invested in conducting new measures to improve administration.

"The EU will continue to offer expert and financial support in the process of establishing an inclusive, transparent, open, professional, public administration oriented toward citizens. The most important aid for reforms of public administration in the coming period is EUR30 million in budget sector support, for the purpose of additionally supporting the conduct of concrete reform measures from 2023 to 2035," Giaufret told BETA.

He stressed that a string of improvements since the start of reforms of public administration in Serbia could be seen such as in the area of offering services, especially e-services for citizens and the economy. "However, we must say that a string of activities still needs to be conducted and further progress in this area is necessary, such as planning and managing capital investments or the depoliticization of high level state services. Therefore it is of huge importance that this process of reforms continues," Giaufret said.
