Representatives of opposition parties’ youth chapters left the messages from citizens participating in the “Serbia Against Violence” protest at the registry office of the Presidency of Serbia on June 7, to be delivered to President Aleksandar Vucic.

Youngsters from the Green Youth of Serbia, the Free Citizens’ Movement, the Freedom and Justice Party and other opposition parties rallied in front of the Presidency building to show that the voice of young people and messages from the protest had to be heard.

The read out the messages in front of the building, some which stated: “You say: I will be the president of all citizens, starting tomorrow. Whose president have you been so far?” “My grandfather no longer trusts you” and “We haven’t voted for you so that you could lie, break the law, insult and sow discord among people.”

They stated that the resignation of the minister for education, Branko Ruzic, and the abolishing of reality shows was not enough and that all demands from the protest had to be met. One of the demands is for Vucic to resign from office, while others include: safety for all, children growing up without having to worry, and the relevant authorities’ responsibility for the victims of violence. The messages were delivered with the aim of conveying the citizens’ expectations from the protest, they stated, and called on Vucic to listen to and read them.
