Through his general secretary, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic employed the gang led by Veljko Belivuk – currently on trial for multiple counts of murder, drug trafficking, sexual assault, kidnapping and the possession of illegal arms – as his personal henchmen for the vilest dirty work, claims Vladimir Vuletic, a professor of the Belgrade University School of Law and former official of the Partizan soccer club.
Vuletic told the latest edition of the NIN weekly that Vucic kept in contact with Belivuk’s thugs via Government Secretary-General Novak Nedic, and used the gang to control all factions of Partizan hooligans.
Unlike companies associated with fans of the Crvena Zvezda soccer team – which, Vuletic maintains, received lucrative public tenders – in exchange for their aid to Vucic, the Belivuk clan received “mere crumbs” in the form of criminal jobs.
“This group's greatest achievement was attending Vucic’s 2017 presidential inauguration. They served as some sort of security at the Belgrade Waterfront, which was developed by Ultra Kop,” Vuletic said, making a point to mention the construction company, which has strong ties to the Crvena Zvezda fan group.
