Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said after a Feb. 12 meeting in Belgrade with Serbian  President Aleksandar Vucic that Athens wanted to deepen economic relations with Serbia, especially in the fields of energy and transport.

"Today, we will confirm our resolve to cooperate in all fields. It is no coincidence that I am in Belgrade today. I have come with four ministers, and also with a large business community. We want to further deepen our economic relations in specific sectors and projects," said Mitsotakis.

The Greek prime minister described the talks with Vucic as substantive, reiterating that Greece's position regarding Kosovo would not change. "The (Belgrade-Pristina) Dialogue is the only way to normalize the relations between the two sides. This would significantly contribute to stability in the region. We have been following with concern the developments over the past few months," he said.

President Vucic stated that Serbia and Greece had always supported each other regarding territorial integrity, and that he believed it would not change in the future. The president said that he had "an open, friendly conversation about all important issues" with the Greek PM. „Prime Minister Mitsotakis informed me about many things that I’m not familiar with in the same way, as Serbia is not part of the European Union," Vucic said.

After the meeting between the two officials and national delegations, the Serbian-Greek Business Forum took place.
