Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic stated on July 17 that the authorities were offering everyone a constructive dialogue about lithium, adding that the opposition and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) would not be permitted to stoke violence.
“We will not allow foreign states to prevent us from developing. That will not happen. End of story,” Vucevic said during an inspection of the start of works on the construction of housing blocks for refugees in Belgrade.
Commenting on the opposition’s reaction to the government’s decree, he said that “quasi politicians and wannabes believe they are tough and they make irresponsible statements.” “No violence will be permitted, or stoppages to everyday life,” the prime minister said.
The Serbian government recently passed a decree on the implementation of the Decree establishing the spatial plan of the area for the special purpose realization of the “Jadar” project of exploitation and processing of the mineral jadarit.
