Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Sept. 4 that he would be staying in the Loznica barracks for the next six days to meet the residents of the Loznica area, adding that one of the topics to be discussed will be concerns that a lithium mine in the Jadar Valley might pose a threat to rivers in the area.
"I want to tell our people that all our waters and land will be safe, and that all our waters will be clean," Vucic said to reporters during a tour of the reconstruction works on the Bojic-Tekeris road near Sabac.
The president added that he will be staying in the barracks because it is a property owned by the Serbian state, so the stay did not incur any additional costs. "We will also have some military activities, including an exercise. I want to be with the soldiers. I don't see that’s a problem," he said.
