Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in Hamburg on Oct. 8 said he was pleased with his meetings with German officials, adding that joining the Global Battery Alliance was important for Belgrade.
Vucic also said he had handed the Serbia Economy Ministry’s membership application letter to Inga Petersen, executive director of the Global Battery Alliance.
Speaking at the panel titled “New Alliance Talks – Securing Globally
Responsible and Circular Battery Supply Chains” held as part of the Hamburg Sustainability Conference, Vucic said that discussions on mining had to include talks on social cohesion.
“We have to discuss this with our people and also consider the entire value chain. Here, it is not only mining in question, but also our future. It is about the fact that in the future, we will have to produce everything that we need,” Vucic said.
