The Serbian Parliament on Oct. 8 continued debating amendments to the Law on Mining and Geological Explorations, initiated by 86 opposition MPs and seeking to permanently ban the mining of lithium and boron in Serbia.
The Oct. 8 sitting again saw a number of MPs failing to respond to electronic quorum call, resulting in absence of the required number of MPs – 52. Parliament speaker Ana Brnabic had to intervene again, like she did the day before, by “asking” the ruling coalition MPS to enable the parliament to function, after which the quorum was met.
Amendments to the Law on Mining and Geological Explorations are the only item on the agenda.
