There are two ways out of Serbia’s current social and political crisis: either President Aleksandar Vucic leaves the country or an interim Government is established to organize fair elections, newly-appointed Democratic Party head Srdjan Milivojevic said on Dec. 16.
In an interview for BETA, Milivojevic also stated that elections will not take place until the situation in the country “normalizes.”
“Vucic has several options to exit the crisis. The first is to follow the example of [former Syrian President] Bashar al-Assad and exit via the Nikola Tesla Airport, flying to Doha, Moscow, Abu Dhabi or Hong Kong, where all our money is already at. The second is to seek an out through a rigged election. The Democratic Party, however, is here to tell him that there will be no elections in Serbia while hoodlums are beating on children fighting the dictatorship and until the [campaign and voting] conditions are equal for all,” the new chief of the Democrats concluded.
