Serbian Minister for Information and Telecommunication Dejan Ristic stated on Dec. 18 that Serbia had approached the issue of artificial intelligence in a systemic manner and that a number of institutions now exists whose job is to focus on the development of artificial intelligence.
“Responsible use of artificial intelligence, the fight against various examples of false news, disinformation and many other phenomena which exist throughout the world, is immensely important for our Ministry. The international community must align on this issue and I am convinced that Turkey is a reliable partner in the common struggle for the ethical use of artificial intelligence,” Ristic stated in an interview to the Anadolu agency.
In Istanbul, Ristic is participating in the work of the International Summit for Strategic Communication. In the context of development in the field of public information and possibilities of cooperation with Turkey, Ristic pointed out that this sector was very large in Serbia, that a strong initiative existed for its advancement and for the empowerment of international cooperation, stated the ministry he is heading.
“There are around 2,200 media in Serbia, 76 professional media associations and three self-regulatory bodies. As the ministry, we are committed and decisive in cooperating with all representatives of the means of public information and in additionally empowering media pluralism,” Ristic stated.
