Forming a provisional government would be inevitable, because anything else would lead to tragic developments, Zdravko Ponos, the leader of opposition party Serbia Center (SRCE), said on Dec. 24.
Speaking to Belgrade daily Danas, Ponos said that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic was also aware of this necessity, but the problem, according to him, was that he had been treating the consequences, while constantly provoking the causes.
“No one any longer believes in his fairy tales that the wellbeing days are just round the corner. If someone takes a nap during his speech, they are woken up by his insults, because while telling such stories he cannot refrain from humiliating students and farmers, from throwing insults to reason. One good example is when he says that many people turned up for the recent protest at Belgrade’s Slavija Square, while presenting the figure which is almost four times smaller than the actual number of people at the protest,” Ponos said.
