Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic said on March 17 that the Government of Serbia was prepared to send an official invitation to the American Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) to come and conduct an investigation into the alleged use of a sonic cannon during the March 15 protest in Belgrade.

Vucevic said that they had "nothing to hide", reiterating that no Serbian state authority used a sonic cannon during the rally in the capital, calling the claims "orchestrated and fabricated."

"No order had been issued by the police leadership, superiors in the command chain, the units on the ground, or the command section to carry out any action against anyone," the prime minister told reporters at the government building, adding that the plan to "continue the color revolution in Serbia" was behind it all.

The Serbian interior minister, Ivica Dacic, claimed that the Serbian police had never used prohibited means in their history, including a sonic cannon.

"There was no reason to use such means. We have nothing to hide. It was neither prepared for action, nor has it ever been used in the history of the Serbian police. I say this with full moral, political, and criminal responsibility as the Minister of Internal Affairs," Dacic told reporters at the Ministry.

Not all media outlets received invitations to the March 17 press conferences, be it the interior minister, Ivica Dacic’s, or the prime minister, Milos Vucevic’s. BETA was among those who did not. The press conference hadn’t been announced on the government website either.
