Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has said that a gathering that is to take place in Belgrade from April 11-13 will largely determine the political scene, but even more so citizens' life in the coming period until 2035.

"I believe that those wise and smart people who have joined the Movement (for the People and the State) and who are yet to join [it] will be the ones to make key decisions on how Serbia wants to proceed," said Vucic.

In his words, the authorities have put together "some kind of plan" and now another plan needs to be made for the future until 2035, for the average salary of 2,000 euros, for higher pensions etc.

He said that the upcoming rally was important "so that they do not tear down our state" and that he would give a speech on Saturday, April 12, while on Friday he would be welcoming those who were arriving.

Vucic further said that people were angry about the violence they had constantly been suffering over the past few months, during the blockades and protests of students and citizens, and that he would fight "with all my might for no revenge to happen" once everything was finished.

He added that rallies would next be held in Nis, Novi Sad and other cities and towns.
