Dragan Djilas, leader of the Freedom and Justice Party, said on Sept. 5 that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic's trip to China on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the victory in World War II, had cost "hundreds of thousands of euros" but that nothing had been done for Serbia.

"This tourist excursion that brought Serbia absolutely nothing cost Serbia hundreds of thousands of euros. Those are the direct costs we know of, and who knows what else he promised those he met there. That will, most certainly, cost us some new billions of euros," said Djilas.

In a statement, the Freedom and Justice Party quoted Djilas as saying that Vucic's policy jeopardized all national interests.

"We are paying for his policy not just with the billions of euros we give to others, but also with the endangerment of all the national interests we have as a people and a state," said Djilas.
