The military parade that will take place in Belgrade on Sept. 20 is being organized as a show of strength and a deterrent to any potential aggressor, not for daily political purposes, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Sept. 19.
"I invite citizens to attend the parade, to come see the huge changes, to see what we've been building, what we've been working on for 13 years, to see how this is a different country," Vucic told Blic TV.
He said the official decision to hold the parade was made on May 1, so that the state could provide a deterrent to potential aggressors, and reiterated that Serbia would not enter into any military pact, i.e. would stay militarily neutral.
The military parade titled "Power of Unity" will take place outside the Palace of Serbia in New Belgrade starting at 11 a.m. on Sept. 20, on the occasion of the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag.
