The lessons learned at the recently held local elections in 10 municipalities in Serbia should also be applied to Belgrade, where the only certain winning combination is a joint ticket of all the opponents of the regime, director of the Center for Local Government NGO Nikola Jovanovic said on March 31.
"The student and student-civic tickets scored excellent results in the Sunday (March 29) local elections, and did the best where they represented a single option for opposition voters, like in Kula, Arandjelovac and Bajina Basta," Jovanovic told Nova S TV.
He underscored that students were the strongest driving force in Serbia and "a symbol of idealism and engagement in politics not based on interests."
"They must play a key role. But hard-working and well-versed representatives of parties should not be excluded, so the only certain winning combination is a single ticket. Neither a left nor a right one, but rather a Belgrade ticket," said Jovanovic.
