President of Republika Srpska (RS) Milorad Dodik stated during a meeting in Banjaluka on Oct. 17 with the newly appointed chief of the EU Delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Luigi Soreca, that RS supported Bosnia’s European path and wants to be seen on that path, in keeping with the coordination mechanism and with full respect for its constitutional position in Bosnia and Herzegovina and its Dayton structure.
Dodik stated that RS would not allow the stripping of its constitutional jurisdiction, imposing of laws and solutions by unelected foreign officials, it was announced by the RS president’s office. During the talks, it was added, Dodik affirmed the RS institutions’ full commitment to dialogue, stressing that domestic institutions and elected political representatives in Bosnia and Herzegovina should be the only relevant factors in decision-making.
The current political situation in RS and Bosnia and Herzegovina and the process of European integration were among the topics of the meeting with the chief of the EU Delegation at the Republic Palace, which was also attended by the Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zeljka Cvijanovic.
