Republika Srpska (RS) President Milorad Dodik stated on June 18 that, during his stay in St. Petersburg, he would participate in the International Economic Forum and have a number of bilateral meetings on its sidelines, one of which could be with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Dodik told the Izvestiya daily that he was looking forward to visiting Russia again and thanked Putin for inviting him to the Forum that rallies, in Dodik’s words, the economic and political elite of the entire world. “The most important event of the Forum is the plenary session, which Putin will address, as is traditional, with a speech that will be, in my opinion, witty, but very precise and powerful, about the current situation in the Russian Federation and at the global level,” Dodik stated, as quoted by the Srna news agency.

He announced that he would meet with the delegation of St. Petersburg, the leadership of Tatarstan, with which RS wants to additionally improve the good relations, and with a number of officials from the region and the world who will attend the Forum as guests.

The International Economic Forum began in St. Petersburg on June 18 and Dodik is heading the RS delegation.
