As many as 85% of employers in the past six months have faced a decline in business, while the same percentage of companies expects business to additionally shrink and 10% of employers think that it will take more than two years to normalize business, according to a yearly document called, Proposals and Recommendations from the Union of RS Employers for Economic Reforms in Republika Srpska 2021-2023.

The document, which also includes a Study on the Effect of Covid-19 On Businesses, which was supported by the International Labor Organization and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, says that 85% of companies said they would need around 180 days to return to normal, while some companies are considering temporarily or even permanently halting business.

A fourth of 47% of all companies in RS are considering temporarily or permanently stopping business, while one percent of companies already have.

“State aid has reached two-thirds of the companies that requested assistance, while only 13% of employers see attracting young talent as a way to increase their income,” the document says.
