The government of North Macedonia has approved legal amendments that will pave the way to the partial or complete privatization of postal service operators in the country.

The government has approved draft amendments and supplements to the law on postal services, which will be put to the vote in parliament, while the deputy prime minister for economic issues, the minister of the economy and the Posta director have been tasked with starting a feasibility study for a public-private partnership of privatization, the Capital website has reported.

The potential privatization of Posta Severne Makedonija will help the process of continuing the liberalization of postal services in the country, in accordance with EU rules, the Macedonian government noted.

The Montenegrin post office employs over 2,000 people.
