President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik has never been in a more difficult political situation, and his personal circumstances are not easy either. The heaviest burden he shoulders is a trial he’s facing for failing to implement decisions made by the international community’s high representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Aware that the trial might end in a conviction that would not only put a stop to his political career, but also send him to jail, Dodik is raising ethnic tensions in the country, as well as the war of words with the international community, High Representative Christian Schmidt and the United States in particular.
