The opposition parties and other opponents of the ruling bloc have ramped up their pressure on the regime, “flooding” the public with information on scandals involving state and party officials and people affiliated with them. The pressure comes after the regular general election that a considerable portion of the opposition boycotted, unhappy with the election conditions. The pressure is, therefore, a logical consequence of the fact that the opposition is no longer participating in the governing system and cannot exert any significant influence on its decisions. The result of that, of course, is rising tension on the political stage and in society as a whole, without indication that the situation might improve in any serious way anytime soon.
