Three months after a regular parliamentary vote Serbia’s ruling bloc headed by President Aleksandar Vucic’s Serbian Progressive Party has yet to complete the formation of Parliament, or at least initiate a procedure to inaugurate Serbia’s new government and prime minister. President Vucic had said earlier this week that the government would be in place by mid-October, refusing to offer any more details in that respect. There’s a flurry of tabloid speculation as to new cabinet appointments, but no one can say what Vucic will do in the end. A constitutional and legislative deadline for a new cabinet to be in place expires early in November. Otherwise, Serbia will see new parliamentary polls.
