In the past month the Serbian government has been under fierce fire from experts and opposition parties for two bills that critics claim could badly damage the state, but also the economy and citizens. Amendments to the Law on Zoning and Construction do away with a fee for gaining ownership over land used by the owners of privatized companies, while a bill on managing economic societies owned by the Republic of Serbia envisages the transformation of state companies into joint stock companies and limited liability companies.
