Second Round of Talks between Authorities and Opposition

The second inter-party dialogue (mediated by EU representatives) on conditions for the elections due to be held in Serbia in the first half of next year ended without a tangible agreement, but after the statements given following the series of meetings it is clear that the European mediators partaking in this dialogue were tougher and more specific this time around. For now, however, there are no reliable hints that the authorities might accept the opposition’s demands, nor hints that the opposition parties which are unhappy with the election conditions and are announcing an election boycott might change that decision anytime soon.
