Serbian Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar has said that by 3 p.m. March 24 a total of 54 novel cases of the coronavirus had been reported which brings the total to 303.

Loncar said that Chinese medical experts who were helping the authorities in Serbia recommended turning the Belgrade Fair into a hospital for the sick. He added that the Chinese had used similar facilities to treat patients in China.

Epidemiologist Predrag Kon said on March 24 that the number of confirmed cases in the country was reason for concern although not yet alarming.

He said that a new aggressive approach to battling the epidemic meant testing household members of the self-isolated sick for the virus.
