The United Opposition of Serbia said on Oct. 1 that "all of the conditions" had been met for prosecutors to launch criminal proceedings against the state leadership, spearheaded by Aleksandar Vucic, after epidemiologist Predrag Kon "admitted" that, as of mid-June, "The number of deaths was up to three times higher" than officially reported.

The opposition organization said that this "confession" makes "it clear that Aleksandar Vucic's regime deliberately forged official statistics before and after the fake elections, threatening the lives of many people and endangering the health of the nation."

"By concealing information and after the fake elections they tried to cover up the results of tailoring data, i.e. the number of sick and dead. These consequences were largely caused by the concealment of data before they (the elections) were held on June 21," a statement said.

The group said "that the claims of the opposition parties that boycotted the fake election doubting official statistics with regard to the epidemic and the public health risk, presented before they (the elections) were held have been proven true."
