Health Ministry State Secretary Mirsad Djerlek on Feb. 23 said the worsening epidemiological situation was due to massive parties organized over the past few days.
“The number of new Covid-19 cases has started to rise again, and those are big numbers. It is the result of massive parties. We have to stop this trend as soon as possible,” Djerlek told TV Happy. He also said that the Crisis Headquarters, scheduled to meet on Feb. 24, would not be considering ways to ease the countermeasures, as the protection of human health had the priority over the economy.
Djerlek stressed that aside from vaccination, collective responsibility was required. He added that if inoculation continued at this pace, revaccination could be completed by end-May and Serbia’s citizens could be close to herd immunity by the end of June.
