The director of the Public Health Institute “Dr Milan Jovanovic – Batut”, Verica Jovanovic, said on Jan. 31 that Serbia might soon reach peak infection rates, and that in the next ten days or so coronavirus transmissions might reach their most dynamic levels as well.
“We cannot be absolutely certain about it though, because a lot depends on us and our actions. I appeal to everyone with symptoms to see their doctor, visit a COVID infirmary or stay at home, controlling their movements to curb quick transmissions,” Jovanovic said in an interview with the Serbian Broadcasting Corporation (RTS).
According to Jovanovic, a fever is the first sign that it might be COVID-19. “It is very important not to forget that immunization is necessary. Mandatory immunization will be discussed, following recommendations by professional bodies, the European Center for Disease Preventin, the U.S. Center for Disease Control, the World Health Organization and professional institutions,” Jovanovic said.
