Minister without Portfolio in the Serbian Cabinet Tatjana Macura has said in New York that Serbia is using all of its available platforms for empowering women and that it was investing efforts in the demographic renewal of the country, her office said on July 24.
Macura, who is in charge of coordinating activities in the area of gender equality, preventing violence against women and the economic and political empowerment of women, spoke at a High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development panel at the U.N. headquarters where she is presenting demographic and sustainable development achievements in Serbia, a July 24 statement said.
She said that Serbia was using all available platforms for the affirmation of women scientists, as well as supporting families, female entrepreneurship and the participation of women in the labor market. The statement added that Macura held a series of bilateral meetings with representatives of Hungary, Moldavia, Finland, Spain, Czechia, Israel, Slovenia and the U.N. at the U.N. headquarters.
She also invited foreign officials to participate in the RISE 2025 conference which is devoted to the political and economic empowerment of women, which will be held in Belgrade in September.
