According to the Register of Public Officials kept by the Anti-Corruption Agency, Srbijagas CEO Dusan Bajatovic is one of the highest-paid executives in Serbia, whose monthly pay has reached nearly four million dinars, or EUR34,000, the Danas daily reported on Aug. 17.

Danas said in an article that as the Srbijagas gas utility’s CEO Bajatovic was entitled to a monthly pay of some RSD203,000, but even the leading post in Srbijagas was his most important position, the salary was just a small part of his income, as he’s also paid as the director of Gastrans, around RSD1.7 million.

Bajatovic is a member of the Jugorosgas supervisory board, and the post is worth another million and a half dinars. He also chairs the supervisory board at Banatski Dvor underground gas storage, for which he’s paid nearly RSD600,000 a month. The paper explained that Gastrans was the new name of a company opened in 2011, South Stream, renamed in 2018 when Russia gave up the South Stream gas line, replacing it with the Turkish Stream project.

Bajatovic kept the CEO post, and the ownership ration remained the same as well – Russia holds a 51-percent majority stake, and the rest belongs to Serbia. Jugorosgas, paying Bajatovic another RSD1.5 million, builds gas systems and runs natural gas transportation and trade.
