The U.S. ambassador to Serbia, Christopher Hill, stated in Belgrade on Oct. 26 that he was pleased about the forming of the new Serbian government because there were many issues that the two countries should work on together, in foreign policy and in energy, where they have a lot of interests in common.

"I am pleased that Serbia has a new foreign minister because there are many issues we should talk about," Hill said after the theatre play "Wilson And Pupin – Friendship And Ethics." He added that he was also looking forward to the meetings about energy, because the U.S. and Serbia had a lot of interests in common.

Hill stated that relations between Serbia and America were not always positive, but that the two countries did fight on the same side in two world wars and that the strength needed for rebuilding good relations could be drawn from those alliances.
