Former Minister of Mining and Energy Zorana Mihajlovic has said that "everything that Srbijagas has done, was done in communication with the Serbian presidential office," without the knowledge of the ministry that she led.

"Even when we requested information we did not get it. I believe that things have changed now, because the incumbent minister is not being asked [about anything] and agrees to everything," Mihajlovic said in an interview with the June 29 edition of the NIN weekly. Mihajlovic said that "Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) needs to invest, and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and his office, i.e politics, "must be removed from these companies."

"This especially applies to lobbyists who have become shadow ministers of energy. Although they do not understand energetics, they are holding it in captivity. The situation is no better in the electricity distribution system," Mihajlovic said.

Asked who "the shadow ministers of energy" were, she replied that "I do not want to be the person who names them." "I definitely do not mean foreign countries, Russia or the U.S., but domestic businessmen," Mihajlovic said.
