Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic spoke with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron over the phone on July 8 asking him to invest additional effort in making Pristina see reason and return to the framework of concrete talks.

"As always, an open and serious talk with President Emmanuel Macron, whom I briefed on the consequences of the dangerous developments in Kosovo and Metohija," Vucic posted on his Instagram account. He noted that, "The now open violence targeting Serbs in Kosovo is more and more visibly moving any possibility of civilized development and approach to resolving open issues further away."

He posted that he had stressed that Serbia remained committed to the dialogue and preservation of peace, even though the Serb community in Kosovo was the only ethnic group in Europe exposed to constant violence. "I begged President Macron to invest additional effort to make Pristina see reason and return to the framework of concrete talks as soon as possible, and to stop undercutting every effort directed toward de-escalation," Vucic posted.
