Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated on Nov. 2 that claims about his readiness to sign for the independence of Kosovo were lies and that he would always adhere to the Constitution and the oath he swore on Miroslav's Gospel.
„Fellow citizens, you will hear anything in every election campaign. Just like they claimed in the previous election campaign, that they were against sanctions on Russia and that it would be me who would introduce them on April 3 (after election day) – I have not done that after the elections, while they have advocated sanctions against the Russian Federation to this very day,“ Vucic stated in a video address on his Instagram profile.
In his words, „now they are making it up that I am prepared to sign for Kosovo's independence after the elections.“ „People of Serbia, I want you to know that this is a flagrant lie. I, as an honorable man, but not only that – as a man who honors the Constitution of his country, the laws of his country and who loves his people in Kosovo and Metohija more than anything, and who would always adhere to the law and the oath sworn on Miroslav's Gospel – I tell you that this is a flagrant lie,“ Vucic said.
