Kosovo Premier Albin Kurti said on Feb. 19 that relations with the U.S. were good, but added that allyship did not mean agreeing "absolutely" every time.
Speaking in the Kamenica municipality, Kurti said cooperation with the U.S. was very good, calling the two sides partners, allies and friends, but that this did not translate into absolute agreement in everything.
U.S. Ambassador to Pristina Jeffrey Hovenier said earlier that the events surrounding the ban on the use of the dinar in Kosovo had affected the quality of the Kosovo-U.S. partnership, while Kurti has maintained that the Kosovo government is obligated to follow the edict of the Central Bank of Kosovo on the dinar.
Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has said that neither the U.S. nor other allies to Kosovo wanted the dinar to stay or the central bank regulation to change, what they did want was an implementation plan and that the Kosovo side was cooperating with the U.S. to the greatest possible extent on that.
