The opposition has received more funds from abroad than ever before for the purpose of “toppling Serbia,” Aleksandar Vucic, the president of Serbia and founder and de facto leader of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party, stated on May 28.
Speaking at an evening campaign rally held at the New Belgrade Sports Hall, Vucic claimed that all the opposition leaders ever do is seek faults and criticize government projects, from the Belgrade Waterfront, through the high-speed railway, to the Belgrade Center railway station.
“Three bridges are under construction in Novi Sad, there are developments across the country and by 2027 we will have changed the face of the country. Let them criticize, since that’s all they know how to do,” Vucic concluded.
Local elections for the governments of Belgrade and a dozen other cities have been scheduled for June 2.
