Croatia’s public debt continued to grow in 2021, reaching a new historic high of HRK334bn (EUR44.54bn) at the end of February.
Compared to the end of 2020, the general government debt at the end of February went up 1.3%, or HRK4.4bn (EUR586.9m), whereas year-over-year it increased by 14.7% or HRK42.8bn (EUR5.7bn), according to media reports.
At the end of 2020, Croatia’s public debt amounted to HRK329.7bn (EUR43.96bn), with its share in GDP reaching 88.7%.
