At the end of September, Serbia’s gross government debt amounted to EUR35.2 billion, which is 50.9 percent of the country’s gross domestic product, the Ministry of Finance announced on Oct. 9.
This marks a slight increase compared to late July, when the public debt was EUR35.07 billion, i.e. 50.7 percent of the GDP.
The Ministry further said that, over the same eight months, the budget registered a surplus of RSD31.5 billion, which surpassed projections by RSD142.1 billion, given that a deficit of RSD110.6 billion was planned for that timeframe.
