Belgrade’s new mayor Aleksandar Sapic presented his team last week, and the appointment of Miroslav Cuckovic as the city manager drew most of the attention. The news that Cuckovic, running the Belgrade suburb of Obrenovac for years, is the new city manager, has sparked an avalanche of negative reactions and comments. Cuckovic’s name first comes to mind when the 2014 catastrophic floods are mentioned. The flooding hit hardest Obrenovac, which he ran than, and still does.
