Thirty-Nine More People Die from Coronavirus in Serbia, 3,706 Newly Infected

In the last 24 hours 39 people died from the coronavirus, while there are 3,706 newly infected out of the 13,974 tested, the Ministry of Health stated on April 5. 

The number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients is 7,839, of whom 282 are on ventilators.
Since the outbreak of the epidemic 621,375 people have been infected, of whom 5,497 died.

As part of the easing of anti-epidemic measures, as of April 5 cafes and restaurants are allowed to open their outdoor seating spaces, while the opening hours of service venues are now from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Epidemiologist Predrag Kon said on April 5 that coronavirus spread in Serbia was decreasing and that the number of new cases would follow a downward trend. Kon told public service RTS that a return of students to classrooms was being mulled over because the number of infected students was going down.
