The chief of the EU Delegation in Serbia, Sem Fabrizi, stated on April 28 that he expected Serbia to be dedicated to progress in the field of rule of law.

In an interview to the N1 Television, Fabrizi assessed that the visit of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic to Brussels at the start of the week was positive and that dedication to move forward existed on both sides.

"We have determined the fields where more work is needed, like work on independence of the judiciary and on creating a better environment for media freedom... results are needed in the fight against corruption and organized crime," Fabrizi said, adding that it was up to the institutions of Serbia "to implement what has been agreed."

Fabrizi said that, for the EU, the important things were what happens in the field and the results. "The government has taken certain measures, established a working group, launched a series of initiatives. It is up to the Union to incite progress in the field and we will work on that being realized as soon as possible," said the chief of the EU Delegation in Serbia.
