Three Die of COVID-19 in Serbia, 88 Newly Infected

Three people have died of COVID-19 in Serbia in the last 24 hours and 88 new cases of the disease have been confirmed, it was announced on June 21.

According to the records of the Institute of Public Health of Serbia, 7,992 samples were tested in the same time frame. There are 341 patients currently hospitalized with COVID-19, 21 of whom are on ventilators. The death toll of the COVID-19 epidemic in Serbia to date is 7,004.

Mirsad Djerlek, a state secretary at the Serbian Ministry of Health, said on June 21 that people from across the region had come to Serbia for vaccination over the weekend.

"Around 14,000 foreign citizens were vaccinated over the weekend. Most came from North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Albania," he said, adding that a digital application would soon be available for people with post-COVID symptoms.
