Lajcak: No Dayton 2
Miroslav Lacjak, the European Union's special representative for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, has said that he had spoken in Brussels separately with each side's main negotiator and had made it known that the EU member countries expect the talks to finally yield concrete results.
"I hosted the two Chief negotiators and their delegations for separate meetings on outstanding issues and the way forward in the Dialogue... It’s high time for real progress," Lajcak posted on Twitter in the evening of Nov. 16, following his conferences with Petar Petkovic, the chief of Serbia's Office for Kosovo and Metohija, and Besnik Bislimi, Kosovo's deputy prime minister.
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti also gave a statement in which he expressed his belief that Pristina would reach a comprehensive agreement with Serbia during his mandate.
In the Nov. 16 interview for Radio Free Europe, Kurti said that he could not foresee when such an agreement would be reached, but that he expected this to happen before the end of his mandate, as well as before the ends of mandate for both U.S. President Joseph Biden and EU foreign affairs chief Joseph Borrell.
