The Serbian MPs, representing the organizers of the Serbia Against Violence protests, on Sept. 5 demanded holding of snap parliamentary and local Belgrade elections by the end of the year, adding that after defeating the Serbian Progressive Party regime in the polls, the opposition's first move would be to meet the citizens’ demands.
“We demand an urgent response from Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. The protest organizers will be blocking this parliament’s session until we receive an answer that snap polls will be scheduled,” MP Radomir Lazovic told a news conference at the parliament hall.
He also said that “the regime could any time choose a different path, that is, fulfill the demands voiced at the protests.”
Lazovic said that the next Serbia Against Violence protest would be held outside the Serbian Government building on Friday, Sept. 8.
