In a unanimous decision, the steering committee of the Socialist Party of Serbia has decided that the only coalition they are willing to enter into for the upcoming Dec. 17 parliamentary, local and provincial elections is with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Socialist leader Ivica Dacic announced on Nov. 14.

Speaking for the latest edition of the Srpski Telegraf daily, the incumbent minister of foreign affairs stated that he can “swear on [his] life” that he will not strike any deals with the opposition and that he has “no intention of entering into a coalition with Serbia’s enemies, be they false pro-Europeans or false patriots.”

With regards to the vote for Belgrade’s local government, Dacic said he expects to share a victory with the Serbian Progressive Party, whereby their joint managing of the capital will “successfully continue.”

Asked about the title of Socialists’ electoral ticket – ‘Ivica Dacic – prime minister’ – Dacic said it was chosen so that voters “would clearly know what to expect [from his party] after the election.”
